The Gift of Aging by Marcy Cottrell Houle, MS, and Elizabeth Eckstrom, MD, MPH, MACP. blends frontline science with inspirational stories and insights from wise elders for aging with health, joy, and purpose. 

Meeting 12 noon - 2:00 PM with doors opening at 11:30 for viewing the Art Exhibit.

KaPERS Spring Nature walks

1. Tualatin Nature Park

A casual 2.8 mile nature walk through a beautiful forest right across the street from Nike World Headquarters. Some early wildflowers will be blooming and lighting up the woods! The trail is natural, mostly flat, and easy. If there is enough interest, the group can go to lunch at nearby New Seasons in Beaverton after the walk. They have many lunch options to choose from in their deli, salad bar, hot food bar, pizza bar, etc.

Meet at Tualatin Nature Park Visitor Center. 15655 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, Oregon, 97003. The walk will depart promptly at 10:00.

 2.Jenkins Estate Rhododendrons and wildflowers
Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026   10:00 am

A casual 2.8 mile walk to explore 1913 historic Jenkins Estate including home, gardens, and natural trails. Spring is truly beautiful at the Jenkins Estate! We will pass through the rhododendron garden, elm grove, rose pergola, pioneer herb garden, WA County Master Gardener learning garden, water garden, and wooded natural trails. Bring a sack lunch if you wish as there are a number of nice picnic areas. Relatively easy walk with one long hill.

Meet at Jenkins Estate. 8005 SW Grabhorn Road, Beaverton, OR 97007. Coming on Farmington from central Beaverton, turn left on Grabhorn road. The garden entrance is .25 miles on the right from the junction of Farmington and Grabhorn. Park in lot immediately to the right. The walk will depart promptly at 10:00.
