KP Cares

KP Cares makes it easy for you to discover, join, and create volunteer opportunities you care about. We want to connect your caring hands to opportunities that matter most to you, but we need your help to do that! We want your feedback on the types of activities and nonprofits that you would like to serve at so we can better assist you in getting involved in the community.

All of our community service and volunteering activities loaded onto KPCares go hand in hand with our Community Health Needs – Oral Health, Chronic Disease, Economic Opportunity, Mental and Behavioral Health, and Access to Care. These five priority areas guide us in finding opportunities in our region. If you have opportunities or a certain nonprofit that you think would be a great fit for KaPers members and Kaiser Permanente staff, please let us know!

If you need assistance with setting up a user sign-on, questions about the process send information, please email Ron Schoals at Ron.R.Shoals@kp.org.

Villages Northwest

Neighbors Helping Neighbors Stay Neighbors

OUR MISSION: “To enable more Pacific NW residents to successfully age in place by developing and nurturing a network of sustainable, community-based Villages throughout the region.”

Today a 65-year-old is likely to live another 20 years. This generation's elders are not satisfied to spend their golden years on the sidelines, even when living with the challenges of aging. The national Village Movement is revolutionizing the experience of aging, empowering older adults to sustain independence and remain in charge of their lives.

For example, Darl has lived in her home for nearly 50 years. She loves the Village concept and enjoys the social activities because she does things she wouldn't do alone. As a volunteer she uses her lifelong acquired skills organizing the Senior Resources Fair and leading the Outreach team. Darl worries less now because she knows when she wants help with a sticky door or preparing her yard for winter, a villager will be right here to help her. This is a group she can age with.
